仲間 — CAREERS
Work at a
Japanese ryokan
Shizuka is a small team looking after six rooms, a bathhouse and a restaurant in Hepburn Springs. If the quiet, attentive hospitality of omotenashi appeals to you, we'd like to hear from you.
職場 — WORKING HERE
A small team, and every guest by name
Shizuka has six rooms, so there is no anonymous back office. Everyone who works here meets our guests, and the care in each small task is what they remember: a room prepared just so, tea at the right moment, a quiet word at the bath.
Japanese and Australian staff work side by side, and you will learn the Japanese way of doing things as you go, from setting a breakfast tray to guiding a guest through the bathing ritual.

Care in the details
A folded yukata, a swept path, a tray set properly. Small things done well, every day.
