Shizuka Ryokan has six authentic Japanese guestrooms, each with its own individual style and character.
All of our traditional accommodation are of similar size and all boast the following amenities;
- Private Japanese garden, with water feature and nightime illumination
- Genuine tatami straw mat flooring
- Ensuite with double-sized spa bath, shower and separate toilet
- Complimentary toiletries
- Fresh traditional cotton yukata robes
- Traditional kotatsu low table with zoisu chairs and zabuton pillows
- Soft slippers
- Mini-Bar refrigerator and extensive refreshment menu
- CD player, radio and CD selection
- Hair dryer
- Tokonoma decorative alcove with scroll and fresh ikebana flower arrangement
- Tea and coffee making facilities
- Air conditioning
- Engawa alcove with cane chairs and table overlooking the private courtyard garden

- Comprehensive information folder and extensive area guidebook
Beyond the privacy of your own guestroom, the ryokan also offers a range of other guest facilities and services including;

Smoking: Please note that for the comfort and well-being of our guests and staff, Shizuka Ryokan is a non-smoking environment. This requirement is also for important safety reasons as the environment around Shizuka is potentially extremely fire prone.
Babies and Children: Shizuka Ryokan has created an atmosphere of peace and relaxation for our guests. Sadly, this does not make it a suitable environment for babies or young children and thus we can only accept bookings for children over the age of 16.
Television and Telephones: In keeping with the tranquil environment of Shizuka Ryokan, there are no televisions or telephones in the guestrooms. However, mobile telephone coverage is available, with Telstra and Optus currently providing the better local reception amongst all carriers. Guestrooms do not offer internet facilities nor desks.
